Paint the Yard is a collaboration between Brink Contemporary Arts and Creative Leamington that will turn Spencer Yard into a vibrant open-air street art gallery. We want to reintroduce Spencer Yard as a more creative, playful space where the public can engage with some jaw-dropping street art and contemporary murals. The project will be a taste of what’s to come with the development of the Creative Quarter.

Paint the Yard has transformed the current facades into colourful designs inspired by local stories, delivered from a range of local street artists. One of the murals, depicting Leamington’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be mounted as part of The  Frontline Project – an online bank of stories of Leamington’s Key Workers.

THE EXHIBITION

On September 20 between 12.00 and 18.00, we will be unveiling the revitalised Yard and The Frontline Mural alongside live painting demonstrations. QR floor stickers will provide the audience with a self-guided tour of the artworks, the history of the site and the plans for the development of the Creative Quarter.

Award-winning Libertine Burger will also be on-site delighting the taste buds of the visitors.

Paint the Yard will allow the community to re-discover Spencer Yard as a new and exciting feature of Leamington Spa’s town centre. We see this project as a step towards the bigger plans CPD has in store for  Leamington’s Creative Quarter. We believe that this project will wet the appetite for the changes ahead.

Paint the Yard is a free event. We have worked hard with Warwick District Council to make the event COVID safe so places are limited and need to be booked in advance.
